Full day E-bike tour of Via Appia with Catacombs, Aqueducts and Lunch

6 Hours

Forget Rome city center for a full day on the ancient Via Appia. With a full-suspension e-bike you will glide on the basalt stones and through the Roman countryside.

The tour includes a guided visit of the Catacombs of Saint Callixtus or Saint Sebastian. You will also explore the Villa of Maxentius, the ancient Via Latina, and the Park of the Aqueducts.

Lunch is served by a local water spring among the stalls of a farmers market.

Tour details:

Upon arrival a friendly guide will welcome you and introduce the e-bikes. You can practice before departing to make sure you feel confident.

As a small group, we will leave the city center of Rome to reach the beginning of Via Appia Antica, just outside the Aurelian Walls of Rome.

From there, we will reach the Catacombs of Saint Callixtus or Saint Sebastian (depending on the opening days). A professional guide will show you how the early Christians did their burials.

After you emerge from underground, we will continue our journey on Via Appia, visiting the Villa of Massenzio and the Villa dei Quintili. The e-bike tour continues to the Park of the Aqueducts, a favourite spot of today’s Romans.

After a refreshing stop by the aqueducts, we will reach the Tombs of Via Latina and then have lunch at a local water spring, with fresh produce from local farmers.
